   if you’re referring to buffet dinner by the sea, you can try the one at Bayview Beach Resort “Seafood BBQ” but need to call up if they still have that one. The other worth trying but quite expensive is the Spice Market Cafe at Shangri-la’s Rasa Sayang Hotel

   Yes, it is… with so many options available, then you won’t feel headache thinking of where to eat for buffet.. But always remember to call them up and check if the buffet is still valid.. Sometimes, it may no longer be valid without us realising it..

    we try our best to keep the info updated but we do advise you to call up the hotel to confirm these buffets. They may change without prior notice and we could be displaying old ones!

    Noted PTP. By the way, have you tried Kampachi@Equatorial vs MainStreet@Cititel? Which is better? Am thinking of throwing dinner-of-the-year for family, thus need to weight price and quality too!

    I’m looking for nice buffet dinner cost around rm30-rm40 per person, for next week coming saturday, 28 Mar 09. From KL. My 3rd time to Penang. Appreciate if anyone can give some idea? Should be halal food. Hotels also good.

    Oh ya, prefer persiaran Gurney or ferringi area. Coz not that familiar with other road/ other places. Even thou go Komtar i also don’t know. Tried once.. lost. Can see the building, but suddently missing. Not good with Penang road.

    i think ferringi area abit harder to find Rm30/40 buffet… maybe u can try City Bayview or Berjaya hotel???

    But where is City Bayview located? Or Berjaya hotel? Is it easy to find? :-)I’m not that familiar with Penang road. But if u don’t mind, can u explain to me from the ferry side? I’ll be taking the ferry from butterworth.

    Ms Pikacu,

    As for your question regarding buffet dinner that cost RM30-40 per pax, it is rather limited these days and as mentioned by our readers, you can try Berjaya Georgetown (next to 1 Stop shopping center) or Bayview Georgetown Hotel (at Upper Penang Road).

    If you are looking for halal food in penang, below are some of the recommendations:
    Nasi Kandar Beratur (next to Masjid Kapitan Keling)
    Nasi Kandar - Along Penang Road
    Mee Goreng, Mee Sotong - Bangkok Lane, Fort Cornwallis
    Food Court at Gurney Drive

    Besides that we’ve covered a few other places for Malays food as well like Hammer Bay Ikan Bakar, Jemputree, Seri Idaman Seafood.

    the big big oyster that you hears should be Rasa Sayang’s Spice Market Cafe… it serves international buffet and not just Japanese. You can read the review here.

    Hi all, i would like to share some dining experience here.. i went to E&O for buffet, on the ”Wine & Dine” Weekend Buffet, after getting many compliments and recommendations from friends and colleagues…However, the dining experience on that night had turned me down..

    Lobsters were not fresh on that night and tasteless, Sashimi was normal, only table wines (low quality wines) were served, beer is tasteless (my bf only took 2 sips) and by paying RM99++, we were only served by local cuisine and normal food!!! We absolutely think that the food and drinks served that night are not worth the money we paid!!!

    You guys may go to try if you do not believe in me and for sure, i won’t go for 2nd visit anymore…

    Sorry to hear about the bad experience you had there. We went for the Executive lunch before and found the food quite appetizing but haven’t tried the Wine & Dine dinner. Maybe we can channel your feedback to the hotel and check their responses

    Hi Penang Tuapui. Thanks for the great site. I have been following your site daily without fail and I really love your site. Anyway I know that some hotels do offer special discount to Senior Citizens and certain credit cards members. Is it possibe for you to list them out when you revise your Penang Buffet List. Well done and keep up the good job.

    we’l try to include these info whenever possible but it may not be up to date as the credit card discounts depend on the arrangement between the hotel and the bank. If there is certain buffet that you like, we do suggest you to call up the hotel to find out about more credit card discounts available

    Hi penang tuapui. Thank you so much for the list. I’m like cracking my head trying to find a place to celebrate the BF’s upcoming b’day in 2 weeks.
    I’m thinking of a brunch or lunch or hi-tea buffet. Price wise, anything below rm70 would be great. Location wise, somewhere around Georgetown or Gurney. Any recommendation?
    Is G Hotel and E & O’s lunch/brunch/hi-tea buffet any good? Worth the money?

    Around Georgetown area, we tried the E&O and The Traders, both quite acceptable. We also tried EQ buffet as well and find it quite worth. However, there were some negative comments about G-Hotel (which we have not verified yet…)

    What is the neg comment about G-hotel? I am looking for buffet lunch and thought I would try G-hotel (RM35++). But I am also thinking about the Japanese Favourite buffet dinner at Traders, which is a bit pricey at RM66 nett. By the way, what is SEMI-BUFFET?

    Last week I call up to Rasa Sayang Spice market cafe for buffet dinner ,they told me valid until 17th Sept also fully book, How about Traders Hotel got japanese buffet dinner in weeday?

    RM38 for buffet lunch only. Cititel’s Main Street Cafe does have Japanese & Carvery Buffet Dinner every Friday and Saturday at RM60nett. Maybe you can check out at http://www.explorepenang.com/ENG/FoodsBeverages/FoodsBuffet/MainStreetCafe.asp. Just to share some nice things and info here…

    if u solely wan to hunt the slipper lobster, you may try Traders hotel, they having very fresh lobster.

    if u would like to have more on other seafood, Rasa Sayang might be a good one for u…

    but if you like to have wine. the can try the the EnO

    Some updates :According to Shang-ri la’s website, Brasserie is only open for private functions now? No more semi buffet / free corkage on Fridays. Pity.
