Golden Happy Cafe, new place to look for the Ex-Teluk Bayan Hawker

Did you know that Teluk Bayan Hawker Center, the hawker center that is located near to Bukit Jambul roundabout, right behind Shell Petrol Station had to shut down due to some lost court case? But I am not going to talk about the law suit here.

I was looking around for “any” new location that the hawkers might moved to as I was fascinated with the Curry Mee and Tom Yam Noodle. To my delight, I found few of the hawkers had moved to Golden Happy Café, located at Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, the corner lot same stretch with Ayamas. You definitely won’t missed this place as you can see lots of crowds enjoying their meals when you pass by the area.

Originally, the coffee shop was famous for its Gu Bak Keow Teow (Beef Koay Teow) and now looks like most of the famous stalls from Teluk Bayan Hawker Center has invaded the place, bringing in many crowds during dinner time.

Don’t forget to try the Claypot Gu Bak Keow Teow, it is one of my favorite especially during rainy days. Yumms…

Here are some of the stalls, Sabah Pan Mee, Thai Food (Fried Rice), Char Koay Teow, Mee Udang, Duck Drumstick Mi Sua, Chu Cheong Fun, lobak, curry mee, wan tan mee, beef koay tew, curry fish head, nasi lemak, tomyam noodle, pancake and chu cha.

Oh, recently closed down? We were there back in June this year. And it was one of our favourite haunt back during our uni days. Such a pity.

I personally feel that the space is too small to accommodate all those hawker stalls. It’s too ‘packed’ now in the coffee shop. Btw, do you know where’s the lok lok stall move to? I love that stall, can’t find it now :(

Hello Ellie, the lok lok stall currently rest, but will be re-open in the new Teluk Bayan food court. It’s a saying from Teluk Bayan food court boss, new food court will be re-open on end of Jan 2010, located in Golden Bay Restaurant, which opposite Public Bank.

I dropped in last weekend and found the place was still crowded though it was already 11:00pm +. 90% of the table orders are Tomyam noodles. The taste was not too sour and not too spicy, served with Hot Soup! Yummie. Also, Hungry eaters will be ordering another plate of Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun as side dish. These are superb as supper! :D. For Drinks, Don’t order the Chrysanthemum drink as it was over yellowish in color.. perhaps artificial coloring? or from the… ? But the MILO are thick and nice.
