THIS IS A MULTI PAGE POST : 1 2

Now that we have got your attention and your eyes fixed on earlier post, we will show you the second part for Taste of Taiwan, which features authentic Taiwanese Cuisine at The Islander, Traders Hotel, Penang, from 30 May 2009 until 14 June 2009.

Lunch is available from 12.00 till 2.30pm (RM47nett/adult & RM23.50nett/child) while dinner is available from 6.00pm to 9.30pm (RM68nett/adult and RM34nett/child)

This is Chef Bia Wang showing us the right way to consume of the Taiwanese Cuisine.

Stir fried minced shrimp with lettuce

As the name implies, this dish of minced shrimp is to be eaten with lettuce.

Scooping up the minced shrimp onto the lettuce. If you can see, there are bits of eiu char koay in the dish that make this dish crunchy

Tadaa……

There were a few Taiwanese cold dishes available like this one marinated jellyfish with abalone.

Squid salad with five spicy sauce contains squid stuffed with pickle and served with the sauce

Marinated Salty Clams

Steamed assorted egg has three types of eggs in it

Asparagus salad in plain and simple presentation

Other appetizers served on the buffet besides the five Taiwanese appetizers above, macaroni salad..

and ham..

Taiwanese snack food.. the tea leaves eggs.

Deep Fried Fu-Rong To Fu

Wok Fried Oyster with preserved black bean

For oyster lovers, you will not get bored with the amount of oyster on this dish

Wok Fried Crabs with Satay Sauce

Tantalizing and delicous crabs served. The shells had been cooked until soft enough that it was easy to break them effortlessly. At least we could break with spoons and not hammer hehe

    J2Kfm,

definitely not all the foods available during the buffet is purely Taiwanese…
the ones we have highlighted, the five appetizers - Marinated jellyfish with abalone, steamed assorted egg, squid with five spices sauce. marinated salty clams and salad asparagus are Taiwanese cold dishes..

All the main dishes (hot dishes) are Taiwanese food with exception on Steamed herbal black chicken which we have to confirm first.
