Hawker Food | Perak Road Bak Kut Teh

Most of the time, people coming over here will be during the morning time for the bowl of tasty Classic Hokkien Mee at Perak Road. Yes, the one that you have to come early and got to wait for a long time before you can enjoy your Hokkien Mee. But come at totally different time, say evening, there is something else that you can look forward to as well.

We are talking about Bak Kut Teh and it is just located at the same place as Classic Hokkien Mee. Seemed like this place has the attraction both in the morning and also in the evening, with two totally different dishes.

The aroma of the bak kut teh soup was quite strong and inviting the moment we got out from the car. Just like the typical hawker foods, the tables were located mostly along the corridor with the great view looking out towards the main road. There was light air breezing too so we did not feel stuffy or warm enjoying our Bak Kut Teh that time.

The place was full that time but it did not take long before our orders arrived. Like we mentioned earlier, we could smell the aroma of the bak kut teh the moment we got of the car. The soup has stronger taste as well due to the herbs used. It might be a little bit strong that some people would not like it as it could taste like Chinese medicine. But for TuaPui, good!

The ingredients in the bak kut teh were quite generous and reasonable too. But the eiu chai was just average; the dressing was not that anticipated and the sauce was too thick and sticky. We kept drinking the soup and keep getting the uncle to refill for us. After that, we could feel the body a bit heaty and warm already. And we thought, we had had enough nutritious intake for the day
