Street Food | Ah Quee Road Fruit Stalls
After our beef koay teow meal, we walked back to the back lane where we parked our car and noticed quite a crowd concentrating at this fruits stall. Being curious and glutton eaters, would we want to miss this chance at all?
This stall had all the freshly cut fruits for your to savor and what captured our attention was you can just eat first and pay later. There was no need to take and pay and only then eat your fruits. We were actually standing for a while to observe what other people were doing before we started enjoying the fruits too.
You could have any fruits you want or ask the seller to cut for you as there were many fresh fruits displayed adjacent to the stall. So there was no worry of having no supply of fresh fruits. The seller could just take it from the boxes and have them cut for you.
The fruits were normally put on a plate and not individually wrapped into plastic bags, so this saved the cost and slightly environmental conscious. The uncle would only use plastic bag when you decided to pack them for take away instead. There was a cup available for you to wash hands once you had finished eating the fruits.
The fruits sold were quite cheap as well. Water chestnut and one slice of starfruit cost only RM1.20 while a slice of honeydew was RM1. So we were off to our next locations here.

The double shot of orange juice is a must to order here. There are no other place where you can find 2 pcs of oranges in 1 glass for the price of RM1.20 !!!

This is the cheapest fruit stall in Penang! I have ordered one whole “Bali Ong Lai” back to eat with my rojak sauce before. They even recommended which was the sweeter one. That is not something you would get from other fruit stalls I have been to. What a great service!
