Penang Food | Mua Chee - Genting
Despite having our lunch at Continental Bakery and then dessert at Sugar Dynasty, our mouths were still very much craving for something to bite. We had a few in minds like pisang goreng, rojak, coconut water, oo kio but could not make a unanimous decision on which one to eat. Somehow, mua chee came into picture and quickly our beloved driver, Fei Fei drove us to the nearest mua chee stall.
We came here some time ago to try their chee cheong fun but this round our aim was to look for Genting Mua Chee. This stall was situated outside the Genting Kopitiam facing the school field. Normally, the person selling mua chee will also sell sweet corns… ermm any reason behind?
The uncle was pretty fast and steady as he whipped the mua chee and mixed them into the metal container that had grounded peanuts and sugar mixed together. Even though the task might be a routine, sometimes it was quite fascinating seeing the uncle do the job fast and clean.
What we liked about the mua chee here was its softness of the mua chee as well as its stickiness as we chewed them. Together with the peanuts dressing, the mua chee came as a satisfying dessert after our meal. If you are intrested to try the multi flavour mua chee, head over to Northam Beach Cafe at night time for a different experience of mua chee.

Yeah! I tried this mua chee once too. Soft mua chee with plenty of grounded peanuts mixed with sugar. But I don’t like the fried onion topping.
